We require all new nations to undergo our Academy for proper training to become a full member. . As a former older member you wont be required to redo the Academy however we encourage you go over the material

Hi Tharu, I'm LongFist.   :science:

I can hit the Forums several times a day, as needed.  At least once should be pretty easy, since I'm now retired/on disability.  (Not by my choice.)
As for Discord, I've searched around, all around, and found NO links to it at all.  I'm a Discord FIEND, but I kinda' need a target to become effective.  Unless it was written somewhere I was supposed to encounter it and I missed it because of how obvious it was.  Or - more probably - I haven't seen it yet because it's secure, and I haven't yet been granted that security level.  (I've done this, been here before.)  I THINK I've done everything else necessary to sneak back on board and create the least amount of friction for anyone.  (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)  I only need a Discord server to join in order to become "Discord Active" for Polaris, and away we'll go!

Uh, does Discord replace IRC?  I'm kinda' old...

Anyway, thanks, and have a terrific Mother's Day!!!

Left a personal gift on Discord in the #sound-booth.  Wrote it some years ago, thought it sounded "droid-y enough", and it sorta' kinda' proves that I've touched bass, er, touched base.  Thanks for the opportunity.

Thank you!  It was (once again) an unmitigated success.  Ate well, had a little fun, although not too much so I could TRY and function today.  Then the day shifted into blissful peace and we finished it off with a little television viewing.  Kinda' pleasantly uneventful, but when you consider my youngest moved out two months ago at the ripe old age of 26, it kind of makes sense.  Of course, always having kids (mine or someone else's - they were almost always inseparable at times) around made us acceptable to a certain level of chaos: that chaos has ceased, and the place seems a bit empty for all of that.  What a wonderful time to be alive: I never thought these days would arrive!!!

Interesting Note: If anyone remembers Provinfistoris, my eldest son - he broke away and now lives right close to Dallas, TX.  His little ("middle") brother Xireau (another 'net nickname!) lives near Lebannon Pennsylvania, so the youngest son (naturally) only moved about ten minutes away to keep an eye on the parents.  And so the tables turn.  And choas gives way to peace due to diffusion.  Not bad, really.  Not bad.

:laugh:   Hope it was a passably fun day for all ya'll too.  I sorta' like spreading the wealth.   :toast:

We had most of ours moved out with just the youngest here ( 22 yr) but then had one of the others moved back  LOL

Uh-Oh: The Old Man's "History" button just got pushed!   :zorn:  LongFist is the nickname/dimunitive form for "Emperor's LongFist", a style I studied a LONG time ago during a philosophical argument between my current (GrandMaster) Sensei and I: the crux of the argument was when he said "There are no superior arts, only superior fighters" and I disagreed, thinking that Shorin-Ryu was somehow a magical superior martial art because of how many contest championships we had won.  (He sent a young LongFist to four different Martial Arts schools to learn about that, how to know the difference, and ultimately WIN that argument!)  :grin:


When young LongFist returned to the dojo after a number of years' absence, he quickly (and successfully) answered the challenge (in the ring) to retain his belt level and status.  (The standard rule of the dojo was loss of a rank per missing year or part thereof: had he not challenged poor LongFist would have been a black belt no more!)  During the challenge LongFist often "reverted" to his new Kung Fu styles (there were many) and the surprisingly artful flourishes of the Emperor's Long Fist techniques which earned him that nickname, and it stuck forever more.


It turns out later that the GrandMaster in question was grooming a successor to carry on the Dragon Brothers School after he passed.  LongFist is still fighting against that destiny, but little by little it is becoming a real thing, even though personally I don't feel like a match for the school's next patriarch.  It would appear that said GrandMaster could affect others' destinies, even from beyond the grave.  Still developing, I'll let you know how it turns out.

/History --- all right, the history lesson is over; class dismissed!  :laughIPB:

 ^_^  Our lovable and most adored Empress, the day was, indeed, serenely perfect.  All of my children "checked in" (they're the reason I'm so invested in Discord) and I even had a quick visit (audio and video) with my granddaughter in Pennsylvania, some 8 hours north of here.  She's a year (and two months!) old, cruising around the house with handfulls of stuff, and babbling up a storm - some of her words are actually REAL words!   :clap:

It's great to get back in touch with everybody again!  My nation is in ruins, but we'll soon get that arighted, so I guess I'll settle down, get quiet, and continue to sponsor chaos and confusion in the margins!  Thank ya'll for calling me back - so far this has been a blast!  Feel free to catch me on Discord (as soon as I figure out who you are, DMs will be/are most welcome!) and I'm almost always on.  And if you think you need anything, my talent pool has continued to grow!  I can now screw up MULTIPLE projects at once!!!
